New Leadership For A Better Pennsylvania
New Leadership For A Better Pennsylvania
Hello! My name is Matthew Contreras, and I am running for the office of State Representative in the General Assembly 139th District. I have been a Pike County resident for 15 years. My family has had a presence in our district for over 50 years, and I have enjoyed our exceptional community since I was a young boy. My wife and I specifically chose our district to raise our family when we were deciding to maintain permanent roots. We love it here, and it is home.
I am running for State Representative to affect change and return our Commonwealth to our founding principles. Like many Americans, I have become disenchanted with political party games that leave ordinary citizens like us wondering what they are getting for their tax dollars. I believe in a government at the county, state, and federal levels that supports our God-given, Constitutional rights. A government that understands the primary role of the government is to promote the safety and security of its citizens. Additionally, I support a limited government that promotes economic responsibility and does not use tax dollars as a political slush fund.
As a member of the Pennsylvania General Assembly, I will foster a dialogue with all constituents. I will stop reckless spending. I will seek to reward efficient work, and restructure where necessary. I will work with my fellow elected officials to create the vital change that is necessary in Harrisburg.
I will also:
· Reduce the Tax Burden
1. Call for Comprehensive Tax Cuts
2. Eliminate the School Property Tax

2. Comprehensive Parental Bill of Rights
3. Elimination of woke political agendas in government education
· Promote Election Integrity
1. Eliminate Act 77, drop-boxes, and "no excuse" mail-in ballots
2. Precinct control of all ballots
3. Institute stricter penalties for Election Fraud
· Safeguard Constitutional Rights
1. Expand First and Fourth Amendment Protections
2. Safeguard against Second Amendment Infringements
3. Defend a person's Right To Life and Protection

I have lobbied for a better future for our children and our Commonwealth. I have given testimony in the Senate in Harrisburg, on behalf of parental rights, government transparency, and medical freedom. You may view the testimony here https://youtu.be/5lItZxlAF6A.
